ACIN I-51-11: CalWORKs Information Regarding EDD Debit Card (8/18/11)

Just explains that the movement to put State Disability Insurance (SDI), Paid Family Leave (PFL), and UIB onto a debit card doesn’t affect client verification. The transition to the debit card started July 12, 2011 and will be completed over a three-month period. UIB recipients will still get a payment stub to verify the amount and date of receipt. The only change is that there will no longer be a check attached to the payment stub and benefits will be directly loaded onto the individual’s debit card. [Download]

ACL 11-05E: Correction to Computation of Income for Households with an Elderly or Disabled Member and Treatment of Child Support Exclusion (8/12/2011)

When forms are printed in a typeface that nearly requires a magnifying glass to read, one has to expect a few typos and other errors might occur.  Accordingly, the state issued this errata notice fixing the typos and correcting the QR 285B (removal of references to elderly and disabled households except for documentation of separate household status), DFA 285B (removal of reference to quarterly reporting and elderly and disabled households except for documentation of separate household status) and DFA 285D (removal of references to quarterly reporting) forms.  The new forms also correct the treatment of court ordered child support payments, making them income exclusions with the 20 percent earned income deduction taken prior to the child support exclusion.
