ACL 12-19: IHSS Program Providers Signing Individual Waiver Requests As Authorized Representatives For Recipients (4/11/12)
Instructions for implementing AB 876 , which prohibits an IHSS provider applicant from signing his/her own individual waiver request as a recipient’s authorized representative. Potential providers who were convicted of certain “Tier 2” crimes are barred, unless the recipient signs a waiver. The exceptions are for provider applicants who are a parent, guardian or person having legal custody of a minor recipient or the conservator, spouse or registered domestic partner of an adult recipient. Out-of-state Medi-Cal coverage (including dental services) is available for California children who are in the custody of a county welfare agency or probation department via court dependency order or ward status and placed out of state in a CDSS certified group home. The sunset date for Transitional Medi-Cal (TMC) has been extended to December 31, 2012. TMC provides up to 12 months of Medi-Cal eligibility to beneficiaries discontinued from the Section 1931(b) Medi-Cal program due to employment-related reasons, such as increased hours and/or earnings. [Download]
