ACIN I-09-09: National Voter Registration Act Of 1993 (1/27/09)

Just a reminder to CWDs of their responsibilities under the Federal National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA). Counties must offer voter registration opportunities at all offices that provide public assistance and all offices that provide state-funded programs primarily engaged in providing services to person(s) with disabilities. A review of the do’s and don’t of NVRA, as well as asking counties to participate in a state effort to voluntarily report totals of those registered on a monthly basis. [Download]

ACL 08-65: Documentation Of Interpretive Services (12/31/08)

Ringing out the old year with clarifying instructions on how and when to document that the county offered and provided interpretive services to clients. Includes review that an offer, in the client’s primary language, of interpretive services and written materials, must record the reason why a applicant/recipient declines material in their primary language. ACIN I-62-08E: Correction to ACIN I-62-08 (11/14/08)

The fix-it to the ACIN on Confidential Tax Information Requirements, this notice rescinds use of the Attachment (letter to employers) because of concerns “about the wording.” (Like saying the person is suspected of fraud). The new ACIN just tells counties to use existing 3rd party verification systems if the recipient does not provide the verification. [Download]

ACIN I-62-08: Confidential Tax Information Safeguard Requirements (8/26/08)

The “how to” (49 pages!) for compliance with state and federal confidential data security requirements.  Counties get confidential tax information in order to process tax intercepts, for the IEVS (income and assets) systems.  Includes a template for letter to employers to verify income, and the training and report requirements.  [Download]
