ACWDL 09-20: New limits and disregards for the A&D FPL PROGRAM for 2009 – beginning May 1, 2009 (4/23/09)

On May 1, 2009 new limits for couples in the A&D FPL go into effect. Because the SSP is decreasing on May 1, the A&D FPL couples limit will decrease as well. Welfare and Institutions Code, Section 14005.40 requires that the A&D FPL be the greatest of Supplemental Security Income/State Supplementary Payment Payment Standard or 100 percent of the FPL plus $310 for couples. ACWDL 09-19: Supplemental security income/state supplementary program payment standards reduction/Medi-Cal budget calculation chart (4/23/09)

On May 1, 2009 California’sSSP Payment Standards will be reduced back to 2008 levels. The Couples income limit for the Aged and Disabled Federal Poverty Level program will be reduced to $1525. ACWDL 09-17: Amendment of the federal provision of “deemed” eligibility for infants (4/13/09)

Deemed eligibility infants used to lose eligibility if they stopped residing with their mother. It was also required for the infants eligibility that the mother remain eligible for Medi-Cal or would remain eligible if still pregnant. Starting April 1, 2009 deemed infants will stay on Medi-Cal their first year even if they no longer live with their mother or if their mother is no longer eligible for Medi-Cal. This change was made by the new CHIPRA law. DHCS will change the regulations to comply there will also be changes to the MEPM and the relevant forms. [Download]

ACWDL 09-16: MOU between the CDCR AND DHCS regarding the pre-parole process for securing Medi-Cal entitlements (4/1/09)

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the Department of Health Care Services struck up an agreement that facilitates the completion and submittal of Medi-Cal applications for inmates and wards of CDCR prior to their release.
