Check out the new “categorical eligibility” program listed in this letter. Counties are to implement July 1, 2009 for the existing NAFS caseload and no later than January 1, 2010 for new FS applicants. SB 84 provided for supplementmental rates based on the extraordinary care and supervision needs of a dual agency (Regional Center and foster care) child. It also required various data reporting, not all of which can be collected via the Child Welfare Services/Case Management System. Voila!
