ACWDL 08-36: List of county welfare department contacts for SB 1469 pre-release applications (8/26/2008)

This ACWDL follows up on ACWDL 07-34 which implemented the requirements of SB 1469. SB 1469 required DHCS to develop a Medi-Cal application process for juveniles incarcerated for 30 days or longer. The application process enables counties to establish Medi-Cal eligibility immediately upon release if the juvenile is determined eligible. This ACWDL provides a point of contact for each county who will work with juvenile detention facilities to implement the requirements of SB 1469. 73 FR 49332-49333, Eligibility of Students with Disabilities for Section 8 Housing Assistance (August 21, 2008)

This is HUD’s final rule on student eligibility for housing assisted under the Section 8 program. This rule amends 24 CFR 5.612 to make it consistent with the existing statutory authority that allows persons with disabilities who are students who were already utilizing the program as of November 30, 2005 to receive assistance. This final rule takes effect on September 22, 2005. [Download]
