ACWDL o8-35: Extension of the Transitional Medi-Cal program sunset date to June 30, 2009 (8/19/2008)
The title says it all. TMC, which provides an additional six to twelve months of Medi-Cal eligibility to beneficiaries discontinued from the Section 1931(b) program due to earnings from employment, has a new sunset date of June 30, 2009. The sunset date has been extended several times in the past. [Download]
ACWDL 08-34: State data exchange report (8/14/2008)
DHCS has decided that exchanging data through paper or microfiche is no longer secure. Starting in August the state data exchange report will only be available through secure file transfer protocol. This should be a big cost saver to counties as they will no longer have to travel back to 1980 to get their microfiche readers fixed. [Download]
ACL 08-39: Expedited Service Issuance For The Food Stamp Program (8/22/08)
Complete with the new regs, this letter sets forth the changes to the Expedited Services (ES) Food Stamps program. Oops. CDSS regs conflicted with the federal requirements, when stating that there would be no 2nd month ES issuance if the household applied after the 15th and had verification postponed. Feds require that the household get the 2nd month if otherwise entitled, regardless of postponed verification. [Download]
